Don’t Let Christmas Parties Result in Drink Driving

The festive season is in full swing and Christmas parties will soon be New Year celebrations. The downside to this time of year is that drink drivers are on the rise and putting dangers back on Lincolnshire roads. Already this year, headlines have been peppered with stories of local residents and visitors being charged with drink driving offences.

The law is to the letter when it comes to drink driving, even when it comes to drivers returning the next morning who may still be feeling the effects of the night before. A minimum of a 12 month driving ban and penalty of up to £500 can be expected by those over the limit, let alone the risk bystanders and other drivers are put under by the presence of drunk drivers on the road. Employment and general quality of life can dramatically decrease after this, so think about it. Is it really worth the risk?

The cost of alternative transport may seem high, but in comparison to putting yourself, other drivers and pedestrians at risk after one too many tipples at the table, it soon becomes the preferable option. Professional driving companies, such as Style-Arrival, enforce strict alcohol and drug policies, and frequently retrain their drivers in areas such as defensive driving, which helps to prevent accident and injury should an undesirable situation occur.

If you are going out to a works do, or visiting family and friends, over the festive period then please do consider using alternative transport options instead of taking the risk. Most of all enjoy the time with friends and family over this time of year.  Check out our article on Lincolnshire Today for more information.

Merry Christmas from the whole team!
